PETALING JAYA: Transport Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong made a surprise visit to Perfect Driving Academy, Puchong, Selangor to observe how courses are conducted.
In a Facebook post on Sunday (Aug 21), Dr Wee said he had observed the way the computer tests and driving lessons were conducted at the academy for various categories including the B2 category (motorcycles of not more than 250cc), B category (motorcycles not exceeding 500cc) and D/DA (car).
"I also spoke to several candidates to get their feedback on the waiting time for the lessons and tests. I have also interacted with a group of instructors who are certified with the Driving Instructors' Certificate (SPIM) who have teaching experience of 10 to 20 years," he said.
"A lot of proposals were given to me to overcome the issue of shortage of instructors at driving institutes," he said.
Dr Wee had also received feedback from parents who were enquiring about enrolment at the driving academy.
Besides that, he was also given a briefing on the difference in training and competence for the B2 and B licences.
Dr Wee thanked those who gave their views and constructive criticism.
